Emblaze, Bath Spa University: A New Chapter in My Writing Journey

I’m thrilled to announce my involvement in Emblaze, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at supporting Black and Ethnically diverse writers. This new venture continues my work with Paper Nations as its Governance Chair and builds upon my experiences as a writer, educator, and social entrepreneur.

As someone who navigated the publishing world without traditional qualifications or a publishing deal, I understand the challenges faced by underrepresented writers. Emblaze aims to address these obstacles by providing resources, talent development, networking and opportunities for growth with particular reference to the environment.

We launched on the centenary anniversary of James Baldwin’s birthday and I wrote this piece for Bristol Ideas to celebrate his life https://www.bristolideas.co.uk/read/james-baldwin-truthsayer/  Baldwin used his words as weapons against injustice, we aspire to create a space where writers of colour can thrive and share their stories with the world.

I’m excited to embark on this new chapter to support Professor of Story Bambo Soyinka and her dedicated team and look forward to sharing more details about Emblaze soon.
